...Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know and holds us responsible to act... Proverbs 24:12

This must be read

You need to read this.
Not just if you have a few minutes.
Not just if you're bored and have nothing to do.
You have to read this.
It is one of those things that everyone needs to hear and see.
Everyone.
And that means YOU.

This is a girl (who is actually a friend of a friend, etc) who recently moved to Haiti with her four children and husband to BE the change.....

Reality is a Weighty Thing

And then, please....share your thoughts with me.
I would love to hear if God spoke to you through this.
I hope God stirs your soul like He did ours many months ago.
There is a hurting world out there.
We can't sit by while it happens.

  1. Wow. That is heartbreaking. We went to an orphanage here in Bulgaria with some other embassy folk on Saturday. Played with the kids, ate with them, just were WITH them. Hugged them. Lots of little ones needing affection. That was hard, seeing the poverty and little they have, and driving away. We're going back, of course, but when I look at all that we have, all that my 3 children come home to, and think of those little ones, I do just want to bring them all home with me. I'm glad my kids got to go, too, and see the reality for other little ones. They all played together, the orphans and the well-cared-for American kids, and that especially drove home how they are all the SAME. Children. Children who love stickers, and squeal over dogs, and want a piggy-back ride. The difference was some of them got to get in nice cars with their parents and go back to their own homes, with plenty to eat and toys that work and unconditional love... I'm pretty sure adoption is in our future, too, I can feel it, and we've been wanting to since we got married, also. Thanks for sharing this post, it is a must-read. It's easy to just not think about things like this, so we must be reminded -- and also reminded of what our loving Father, has asked us, His children, to do for His other precious children, our brothers and sisters. Well. I think I'm finally done jabbering ;)
